I want a 610. Bad. So few of them survive, which is a shame, because they are mechanically identical to the much-loved and relatively abundant 510, only they have been blessed with this magical little thing called "styling". The 510 is a box of a car. A nice box, sure, but a box. The 2-door 610 looks like a baby Kenmeri and is awesome. The one to get from Japan would be an SSS, and whattayaknow? Here's one in brown, the king of all colors! 20 grand is pretty steep, but the rarity of these cars in general combined with how clean (and brown) it is makes this one a pretty solid purchase. At least to me. I know I'm a bit weird but whatevs, brown 610 SSS. It's awesome.

If I could afford it, I'd just arrange shipping through Goo. They're apparently great at arranging that for you.

...why isn't it covered in rust?
Why isn't it covered in rust!?
WHAT IS THIS MADNESS
On a more serious note... for me, the only price justification is in the motor. If it was the Japan-Only L20A (or even the US-spec L20B) then yes. If it was any of the 4-cylinder models though, nope. If only because you can replace the L20A/B with a more powerful L28E(t?) and make it a nice classic luxury coupe, but the 4-cylinder ones will be consigned to a fun, but slow, cruiser no matter how much money you put into them.
I would have a hard time choosing between one of these with a nicely built L28ET (~200-250HP) and a E24 6 Series, and they probably cost about the same.
Likewise, I would have a really hard time choosing between a 610 with a Rebello Racing engine, and a BMW 635CSi with the M88/3.
